Rob: this does NOT exactly match what we built last night over the phone.  The major difference is that the DHS in the ERL arm was moved to the arm with the dual snubbies in it to reflect a quirk I was looking to enable.  I just looked over StratOps, it does not cover either way for Endo Steel crits requiring a factory to be moved, just that a factory for ES being there to change the structure type.  This is a Class D (Maintence) refit.

Quirks:

Negative:
Non Standard Parts: This is by gods not a factory issued ride.  Torso mounter medium lasers have odd mounting brackets per fluff.  Original SRM6 has issues with arming missiles 5 and 6 which wound up it becoming an SRM4
Exposed Linkage: ER Large Laser.  Per Fluff for mech.
Difficult Ejection - The mini gives the impression that ejection can be very hazardous to ones health.
Difficult to Maintain - LOTs of nonstadard parts, heavily modified.  Makes repairing difficult.

Positive:
Searchlight - See Art.
Improved Cooling Jackets - Snub Nosed PPCs (There is a DHS sitting between the two in the arm)
Improved Sensors - GM, I will shoot you a PM about this.

Dan, the ammo feed issue is dependent on having the SRM-6 mount, not the SRM-4.  The issue as described in the fluff is that tubes 5&6 of the 6-rack have problems.  Since the SRM-4 doesn't have the 5&6 tubes, that issue would no longer apply (installing the 4-rank fixes the quirk).  You'll need to find a difference negative quirk.  Bad Rep isn't entirely accurate; Prototype is closeer to what we were discussing, but I'll look over what the Bad Rep quirk does, exactly, when I get home from work tonight and update this thread on a yes/no.

Additionally, I need you to post your character sheet up tonight if at ALL possible so I can finish updating the TO&E thread.  Otherwise, this Mech is fine, as long as the XP to purchase your own customized design is reflected in your character sheet.

Bad Rep also covers the Sunglow cables snapping and the medium laser mounts being an utter bitch.  Its mostly for resell purposes.  I'll select another quirk in a few hours.  PC sheet will come up later tonight

Dan, Travis said that this mech was going to give me nightmares thinking about how to maintain it, but  :o.

OK, so final Mech Quirk list is as follows:

Negatives
Difficult to Maintain (+1 penalty to repair TNs)  -1
Non-standard Parts (+2 penalty to find parts)  -1
Difficult Ejection (Make PSR or suffer point of dmg when ejecting)  -1
Exposed Linkage (10+ on ANY hit to left arm make ERLL unsable) -2
-5 negative TP

Positives
Searchlight +1
Improved Cooling Jackets (x2 SNPPCs; -1 heat per weapon) +2 (+1 per weapon)
Improved Sensors (unit acts as though it has an Active Probe) +3
+6 Positive TP

Net cost = +100 XP

If that's it, you're good pending character sheet postage.

Sumbitch.  I added my quirk points wrong.  Let me find a way to rebalance it, or if I need to, the Searchlight will become decorative.

Office of the Quartermaster, Star League Defense Forces.
Major Curtis Dekanich, Alpha Centuri
Date 2/32/2764, Hall Operations Office

Subject: GLT-3Nb Guillotine Prototypes

Update on current status of Royal Prototypes.

This project was initiated back in 2760 to plan and build a suitable number of prototypes for the Guillotine BattleMech for use in Royal BattleMech Divisions.  After initial consultation the design team has come up with concept plans for two possible Royal variants to be used in the field.  Per the requests of the Procurement Office, prototype machines were to be built as field refits of extent.  The first design, for the purposes of the trial period, has been designated SLSO (Star Leauge Special Operations) and designed for use by special field commands with a need for durable high powered close range combat.

Design changes to the frame include removing all first generation heat sinks and replace them with second generation heat sinks.  A total of fifteen 2nd Gen cooling units will be used instead of 25 1st Generation cooling frames (See attachment 2a for design placement).  The original Sunglow laser will be replaced with an Extended Range model.  The housing permits any model of that compent to be used, but Harmon has shown the best success in our initial testing.  The Exostar II lasers in the opposite arm are removed and the housing is rebuilt to allow for a pair of advanced Fusigon Smarttooth particle cannons to be installed.  Additional cooling is provided by one or more 2Gen cooling units placed around the particle cannon.  Missile tubes five and six are removed and the weapon is now a Holly Quad Shot system with attendant ammunition.  The additional ton of mass has been assigned to additional armor plating.  Six of these frames have been issued between the 197th Heavy Battlemech Command and the 19th Striker Command.

The second concept is significantly easier to keep up in the field and may be adopted as the preferred version for manufacturing.  The Fusion Smarttooth's are replaced with FurmiFur Burner laser systems nestled into the housings for the Smarttooths and the Sunglow laser is removed and replaced with a Defiance 1001 particle system.  If this is the preferred refit, current SLSO models will be refitted into this frame.

There is a third model in planning which involves a Gauss projectile syste, but the survivability concerns surrounding the rifle itself means this will likely not make it beyond prototype stages.
