Nice.  You're ahead of me; I've got all four Mechs painted and decaled, but I don't have them based yet. Infuriatingly, I managed to spill water on an extremely hard to find and expensive sheet of Ww2 pin-up decals, which suddenly became "use them or lose them" , so now I have a random pin-up on the side of my Marauder instead of the pithy phrase I was GOING to put there.

Got the Shadow Hawk 90% done yesterday! Not sure if I'll have time to finish him tonight, but he'll be complete by Tuesday evening at the latest. I still need to buy the Catapult, but it will be seriously nice to take my time working on my main ride while the rest of the lance is already done.

Starting to feel like I remember how to paint mechs!  :D

Pics are crap, but I'm very happy with the minis. Might add more snow, still trying to figure out the best way to use that stuff...

Now I just need all the lance generation stuff to finish up, so I can go get my main ride at IWM. Waiting is killing me!  :D

I understand, I've really struggled with blue as well. I've still got a few of my RWR Republican Guards that aren't finished because I just got frustrated trying to make the blue do what I wanted it to. One thing I did here was use the same MRP blue triad that Savage Coyote uses on his Donegal Guards mechs, although I'm embarrassed to point that out since his are FAR better: http://camospecs.com/Miniature/Details/6623/defiance-dfn-3s

The paints are the Martial Blues Triad (these are all available at SciFi City btw):
9055 Breonne Blue
9056 Templar Blue
9057 Ashen Blue

He also did a CSO Paint Along on the CBT boards using this scheme, but the image links appear to be all broken now: http://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=47177.0

I use Templar Blue as the base first, then I do a dark blue wash to bring out the panel lines and darken it up. After that I start blending the
colors as I shade each panel, and then eventually work some white into the Ashen Blue for edge highlights. There are plenty of sections on these mechs that I'm not happy with, but overall they look good on the table.

I often will pick a single panel to work on for a bit until I figure out how I'm going to use the various colors and how to blend them. It's also helpful to keep a very diluted dark blue wash (more of a filter really) mixed up and ready, and use that to tone down transitions that are a little too dramatic.

Rob, based on our conversation last week, making a small change here regarding my Traits.

I hit Well-equipped twice: Well-equipped, and then well-equipped (2). Since you said these are attained in 2 point groupings only, this means I ended with Well-equipped (4) and therefore gain an extra trait point to spend since I sold down to Well-equipped (2).

I'll spend that point on Wealth, which bumps it to Wealth (3). I'll also edit the final character post in this thread to reflect this.

Acknowledged.  Thanks for spelling out the change.
