Removing from what someone else told me, isn't necessarily a customization. Removals are just a pass/fail with failure causing double time. In this case the 2/12 will have no effect. The 2/12 only affect items that are added, but do not belong.
Also with customization, The additions should be done all at once.

Rob said that removing items falls under the auspices of a refit. So I'm assuming it does after all

Removing stuff is a customization, but not a Customization. It is a single roll to remove everything (at the highest difficulty/mods of the individual rolls). Techs are eligible for customization XP on this roll I believe. This customization roll does not incur the +2 TN and x2 time for Customization. Installing stuff gets you the +2 TN and x2 time for Customization in addition to incurring all of the mods to TN and time for class A-F customization. You are not allowed to break up your customizations to game the class modifiers.

OK, folks.  Hold up.  Also, I just talked to Dan on the phone to straighten everything out.

The problem here is that Catalyst - in its infinite wisdom - is using the same word to describe multiple things. ("Refit" has been used to describe all three of the below).

1) Removing stuff in preparation for a customization is a refit.
2) Changing a Mech from one canon configuration to another is a REFIT and can be, but is not always, a Field REFIT (chance of Quirks, Techs gain XP based on MoS).
3) Adding things to a Mech which do not match up with a canon configuration is a Customization.  (+2 TN and x2 time, chance of Quirks, Techs gain XP based on MoS)

All three types use the Refit Table from StratOps to determine the time and TN modifier (Class A-F). 

All refit, REFIT, or Customization rolls should be batched together.  The only time we should be making individual component rolls is while doing component repairs after a battle.  So if all I'm doing is removing 10 SHS, I don't make 10 removal rolls; I take the base time of 90 minutes and multiply it by the number of HS being removed (900 minutes).  Spend the time and make the Tech roll.  If I succeed, I don't gain any Tech XP (because it's not a REFIT or a customization), and the slots are open to install whatever I want. 

If I then want to replace those SHS with x10 DHS, it becomes a customization.  So adding a DHS is a base time of 90 minutes x10 for the number of HS (900 minutes), and it's changing the HS type (Class D), so add a x3 time multiplier (2700 minutes so far) and a +2 to the Tech roll.  Because it's also a customization, add another x2 to the time multiplier (5400 minutes total) and another +2 to the Tech roll (+4 total).  If the Tech succeeds on the roll, they can gain XP.

So there aren't 20 rolls (removing 10 SHS, adding 10 DHS).  There's 2 rolls; removing everything in prep for the customization (ie, a refit), and adding everything in the customization.

Also, because there is nearly no video of Vladimir Myschkin out there, he is now Andrei Vaslivesky.  The same issue exists for Tretiak.  He is now Sergei Bobrovosky

Running Horse mission 1 recap

Phawk is down some ammo and a half ton of armor
Dervish is down half a ton of LRM10 ammo.  No armor

Catapult is down 31 pts armor.  LT LRM bin is dry, RT down 2 rounds.
Awesome used 9 Gauss rounds, 100pts armor

9-22 Repairs

Figuring out how specifically the timing works based on examples from other threads.

Lance currently has 3 techs assigned, and an HR is assigned.  510 minutes each per day. 

Nabakov assigned to Reload the Catapult and Awesome.  Each will receive one ton of ammo.  60 minutes total (time determined by looking at another thread, automatic.  450 minutes remaining.  Base number 7, in field +2, triple time -2 = back down to 8 (custom unit).  Gets ten boxes in today.
rolles an 8 - 10 points back to the Awesome.

Vaslivesky has 510 minutes today.  He will be doing armor work.  Base TN 6, field +2, custom +1 double time gets it to 7.  Rolled a 7.  Whew.  510 minutes on double time is 17 per Windows Calc.

Bobrovosky has 510 minutes today.  He will be doing armor work.  Base TN 5, field +2, custom +1 double time gets it to 6.  Rolled a 9.   510 minutes on double time is 17 per Windows Calc.

Awesome picks up 44 points of armor.

9/23/45 Repairs

Nabakov is attempting to repair the Catapult - 510 minutes for the day.  Base 7, field + 2, triple time is back to 7.  7 dead on...11 points back.

Kronwall and Strahlman each took headers in the previous game.  Scratch N Sniff, a Veteran gets a 6 and 8 respectively.  Both are healed.

Skaraborg Lance 9/24/25 - IN The Field.  510 effective minutes due to HR Admin.

Nabakov spends 60 minutes to reload the Awesome, Another 60 minutes reloading the Catapult.  He is then tasked with attempting to armor up the Awesome for the rest of the day.  He will double time his repair attempts, which gets him 13 boxes for the day.  Based TN of 7, +2 for Field, Need an 8.  Got an 8.  Woo  13 points armor back on.

Vaslivesky works on the Awesome as well, needing to replace 13 points of armor, attempts to double time it, thus needs a 7.  Got a 7 exactly.  Awesome is full up.  120 minutes left.  Move to Dervish.  Base TN of 6, +2 field, Easy to Maintain -1 - Base of 7.  Double time gets me to a 6.  4 points armor.  Passed on an 8.  Dervish gains 4 armor.

Bobrovosky is up next.  Spending his day on the Dervish as well.  Double times it to a 5.  Rolls an 8.  17 points of armor back.

Skaraborg Lance 9/25/25 - IN The Field.  510 effective minutes due to HR Admin.

Nabakov will be on the Dervish today.  He will be replacing armor.  Base TN7, Field makes a 9.  EtM makes 8.  Quad makes a 5. Rolls an 8.  Dervish up to full, 120.  30 minutes left in his day.  Moves over to the Catapult.  Double time, armor means a -1 (didn't see that before...) needs a 7.  Fails it, snakes.

Vaslivesky is on the Catapult to start the day - 25 points of armor remaining.  Double time for 17 armor points is 510 on the nose.  Base TN is 6, -1 due to armor, +2 for Field, double time means -1.  Need a 6.  Got a 7.

Bobrovosky will take the remaining time to finish the Catapult repairs.  8 points of armor left.  Needs a 6, see above.  Rolls a 10.  Catapult at full pending a GM question (One LRM15 bin is at half)  Moving to Phawk - 7 points of armor.  Double times it as before.  Just makes it on a 6.

Phawk is at full armor.

Advance to 10/1/45 - Back in Maintenance Bay.

Bobrovosky to perform a Refit on the Phawk.  He will be removing the Mguns and ammo, adding 2MLs.  This is a Class D refit.  He will quad time this refit, to make it appx 5 days of his time.  Base TN of 5, +2 for Class D, -2 for Maintenance Bay, -3 for quad time.  Rolls a 6.  PHX-1a online as of 10/11/45.

Vasliveskly to perform a Class B Customization on the Awesome.  He will be removing the SL and adding a Searchlight.  Total time is 240 minutes base.  He will double time it.  Base TN of, Class B and Maintenance Bay cancel out.  Double Time is -1, needs a 5.  *just rolls a 5* AWS-8Qa2 Online 10/3/15.

Nabakov will attempt to repair the LL on the Zeus.  Base TN7, -2 for Maintenence Bay, -2  for Weapon 1 crit if I'm reading Page 16 correctly - is this seriously a 3?  Rolls a 10 - 100 min, 410 left for the day.

He will attempt to repair the LT structure, 3 points.  Going for 3/4ths time, 68 mins.  Base TN7, -2 for the maintenence facility, +1 for 3/4ths time.  TN6...and gets a 6. 

Replacing the ML is 120 minutes needing a 6 (7-2+1) and rolls an 8.  ML Replaced.

Attempting to repair 19 points of Armor.  7bas -2 Mntc - 1 for Armor needs a 4 and rolls a 10.  Calls it a day and knocks off early.

Going to catch up on warehouse and pay stuff before going further.

10/2/45

Bobrovosky and Vaslivesky are already assigned.

Nabakov spent his day removing the LRM15 and ammo from the Zeus and general upkeep.  Just easier that way to keep the dates right.

10/3/45

Bobrovosky is Assigned.

Vaslivesky is attempting to repair 24 points of armor on the Zeus left leg.  Base TN of 6, - 1 (armor) -2 maintenance facility needing a 5.  Rolled an 8.  Left leg is rearmored.  150 minutes left in day, attempting to re-armor most of the LT (15 points)  Rolls a 10, adds 15 more points to the LT.

Nabakov is attempting to finish the RA armor, needing to put on 3 points needing a 7.  He fails, the useless sod.  He attempts to do the same to the LT, and gets an 8.  He will attempt to rearmor the CT for the rest of the day and makes an 11 on that roll.  The CT is now fully armored.  He slinks off for the rest of the day and performs upkeep

10/4/45

Vaslivesky to attempt to put the last 3 points of armor, and will double time the installation.  Needs less than the 7 I rolled.  ZEU-6S Zeus mostly back online.

10/5/45
Everyone is buy staring at walls until 10/21/45.  at some point during this, the LRM15 ammo is added back to the RT of the Zeus.  Someone does it on a 10.

10/22/45

Nabakov will attempt to install the LRM15 into the Right Arm - Base 7, -2 FAC, +1 Weapon -3 Quad time = 4.  Rolls a 9, makes it.

 - Vaslivesky takes the new Zeus head and attempts to install it.  He will Quad Time to install it: 960 total minutes.  6 + 4 (destroyed location) -2 Maint facility -3 quad time = TN5.  Rolls a 7.

10/23/45

Vaslivesky has an hour left to his day.  He sods off for tea.

10/24/45

Nabakov will rearmor the head.  TN7, -1 ARM, -2 FAC, -1 2x time needs a 3, success

Vaslivesky will attempt to install the cockpit.  This will be all he does today.  Base TN6, +1 component, -2 FAC, -3 Quad Time.  Rolled a 5.

ZEU-6S online ready for use.

10/30/45

PHX-1a (Oduya) goes on solo mission and is successful.

He returns with a Dervish 6M, and some SUPPLIES
 1 Blazer Canon.  2 tons armor.  1 ton MG ammo.  12ct assort Successor Lord Inflatable Dolls
