Armament is only part of the problem. They also need mobile (jump jets) or hard hitting/concentrated damage. The Hetzers have 30/22 armor, the Pos have 40/30 armorand the Pegasi have 26/19 armor. Your unit (and mine) has too many medium lasers. They don't do the kind of concentrated damage to take a tank out in one salvo because of the vehicle hit table and they will force you inside the danger zone of the Hetzers and Pegasi and you won't outrange the Pos.

Yeah, that makes sense. Fair enough.

I was leaning toward Dragon.  Does anyone know what Crusher's loadout is?  Will he even be there?

Ice or Dragon would be the two I would lean towards. I looked at the TO&E and Crusher would havea rough time. The Catapult has 2x LRMs as primaries, the Orion is a Ballistic/LRM/SRM machine. I don't recall if he had modified the Shadow Hawk, but if not, it is an AC/SRM mix. Tje Griffin is the best suited with only half of its firepower in LRMs. If he can make the March game, I'll take Crusher in the Big Battle.

If the weather conditions are screwing over your reinforcements to the point where all options suck, you may want to consider rerolling some of or all of the weather conditions.  Even if that would also make things somewhat easier on the OPFOR.

Also, Kong is in local command, since he's got the higher Tactics score.  Not ya'll.

[Kong Lance] Mike, holding on you to determine rerolls.

If it makes you feel better, you can call in Dunedain lance as reinforcements. My force is probably the best set up for the current weather conditions and I am willing to take the risk of being damaged in the next battle. Given that the goal is simply crossing the field, I like the weather making it hard to hit. If no one lands a shot in the whole mission, we come out ahead. That let's us focus on rerolling the maps until we get something favorable (not urban).

Enemy Units' Weather Impacts:

Mechs:
2x Wasp WSP-1L SRM-4: +5 (Those are 1/3 and 2/4 pilots, so the PSR mod will still make them think twice about kicking and missing)
Stinger STG-3R 2xMG:+4, MLAS: +2 (4/6 pilot)
4x UrbanMech UM-R60 AC/10: +4, SLAS: +2 (With 1x 2/4 and 3x 4/5 pilots)
Phoenix Hawk PXH-1 2x MG: +4, LLAS: +2, 2x MLAS:+2 (4/5 Pilot)
Trebuchet TBT-5S 3x MLAS: +2, 2x SRM-6: +5 (2/3 Pilot)

Vehicles:
2x Warrior H-7A (7/11 from 9/14) AC/5: +4, MG: +4 (4/5 and 3/5 Pilots, +3 PSR may sideslip them off of the board)
2x Pegasus (6/9 from 8/12) MLAS: +2, 2 xSRM-6:+5 (4/4 Pilots with +3 PSR may sideslip themselves to death)
3x Hetzer (Standard, 2/3 from 4/6) AC/20:+4 (3/5, 4/5, 4/6 pilots)
1x Hetzer (LRM, 2/3 from 4/6) 2x LRM-15: +5 (2/5 Pilot)
4x Po (2/3 from 4/6) AC/10: +4, 2x MG: +4 (3/5, 4/4, 4/5, 4/5 Pilots)

As hard as the weather may be on our accuracy, it will be atrocious on theirs. If we just push through at speed, we should keep the mods high enough to have plot armor. The Trebuchet, with a 2/3 Pilot will need 7's at point blank with the medium lasers with him standing still and us maintaining 3 mods. Add in his movement and range... The best Hetzer shots are base 7 before any movement, target movement or range modifiers. It's obviously not impossible for them to hit, but it will be very difficult if we keep any kind of mods or distance.

Rob,

Just to confirm, if you reroll the terrain, the map automatically rerolls as well, correct?

Yes.

And FWIW, it's not going to be all that physically difficult for (most of) the opfor to simply move against the board edge to physically block movement off board and/or reduce range while you have to sit against the board edge for a turn.  "Just ignore them and run past" is not going to be a strategy conductive to low losses.

Then we out range them and they have higher mods than we do. If my force is selected, three of my units have ER PPCs, and regular PPCs (Wolverines, Blackjack, and Gladiator) outrange the majority of enemy units. Even large lasers (Pixies and Ostsol) will do a credible job against half of the OpFor. So, if we can get an open field terrain map, we can make it really painful for them to turtle.

Rob, please reroll terrain.

I am thinking of ice lance for their jump jets and more armor punching weapons.
