OK, in light of an extremely recent event, I'm going to exchange it after going further through the process in AtB and realizing something really, really, important.



It says RANDOM Mech.  Not "random from the employer's available Mechs".  When AtB doesn't specify beyond simply saying "random", it means that it's rolling an RNG against the total number of defined Mechs (in this case, "Light") which are available during the specified years (ie, up to 3045).  I know this, because when I auto-completed the mission in the sample game of AtB I'd started to even generate the SL Cache mission report in the first place...it gave me a Kit Fox B.  Yes, a CLAN MECH.  Since those existed in 3045.

Now, obviously, that's not going to be a thing. 

So what I'm going to do here is open a copy of AtB and figure out how many Mechs are available up to 3045 using the "GM Unit Purchase" submenu, and roll an RNG with that many values, rerolling until I get something that's possible (ie, rerolling Clan-tech results).

I'm stupid.  I forgot SSW filters exist.

Note that the lower numbers is because the Clan stuff has been removed.  I still have a few Light custom Mechs of my own design floating about in there; I'll reroll if I land on one.  Finally, AtB has support for LAMs, while SSW does not.  To counteract this, I'm adding the following results to the table (this is way more of a PITA than I thought it was going to be):

173: STG-A1
174: WASP-100
175: WSP-100A
176: STG-A5
177: WSP-105
178: WSP-100b
179: STG-A10
180: WSP-105M

Note that for future PC results where a truly random result is possible, I'll do this behind the scenes for everybody.  But I want to be up-front and transparant the first time this happens for two reasons: 1) it's the first time this has happened and I want ya'll to understand how this works, and 2) it's my lance, so transparancy is even more important.

Fuck - I just realized, I screwed up and had my "order of display" set on "alphabetical by BV" when I rolled this, whereas it's on "alphabetical by tonnage" when I rolled the other stuff; that's why the Panther doesn't show up in the image just above.  Had the order of display been set correctly, this would have produced a different result (albeit a non-canon Raven -3X, which would have necessitated a reroll anyway).

Does anyone want me to restart from scratch?  I don't want anyone to think I'm gaming the system here.

I do think that you should reroll on principle, but I would support adding a battlemech filter to get rid of the loader mechs and construction mechs. Though I will admit I would laugh if you rolled an agromech.
