Dunno. I'm thinking more of the not knowing what will happen to units in factory.

I spoke to Rob last night.  He's been busy and is currently working on the scenario.  Please be patient.  We do have some time.

Thanks for the update. That’s what I assumed given we still have over 2 weeks before our next session.

All right, screw it.  I've spent portions of the last 4 days trying to get a small-scale terrain map for which I can remove all the labels, in order to make a cool immersive moment (but I know that if I leave any identifying labels on some of you are immediately going to run to Google Earth and try to overthink the scenario rather than just take the cool map and go with things), and I can't.  Either the labels are hard-coded into the terrain tiles, or the terrain tiles I NEED don't exist at the resolution I need (~10m elevation lines).

So, sorry.  You don't get a neat map.  You get a half-hour in MS Paint, instead.  Sorry.

(Map scrolls right)

The larger plan of action is for the GDL to absorb the main enemy attack.  Grayson will not and won't ask the Rangers - not under contract - to take that sort of duty.  His plan of action is to put his command company (GDL 1) along the highway as the Falcons cross the bridge.  He will be supported by his second company (GDL 2) firing from the high ground to the east.  His special forces infantry units and their carriers (GDL 3) will occupy a covered position to the west.  If and when GDL 1 must fall back from the highway into the industrial farms to the south, GDL 3 will hit the Falcons in a close action from the flank, while the forces of GDL 2 will drive down from the hill to the Falcon left rear.  Hopefully, being hit on all three sides will break the attackers.

However, there is a fairly major issue with this.  The rivers are narrow, but deep and fast-flowing, and the only reasonable path of retreat for the Gray Death Legion is to the southeast, towards Braunfield (erroneously labeled "Bakersfield" on the map).  Grayson (and frankly anyone with a Strategy Rating of +1 or higher) is fully expecting a flanking action through the warren of hills and small forests to the northeast.  This route is heavily shielded by terrain, and with the main Legion forces engaged, it would be very difficult to tell if a Falcon force was attempting to move south and cut the Legion off from safety by seizing the Braunfield Bridge.  Therefore, a blocking force is required to hold this position and stop any Falcon advance through this area.  That's where the Rangers come in.

Your Unit CO has committed the following Lances to the action:
Midnight
Crusher
Dancer
Freya

Each of those lances will need to post below and list which Mechs and Pilots they will be bringing to the action.  The specific OPFOR is unknown, but keep in mind the terrain (a roughly even mix of rolling hills, forest, and open space) and the fact that the Falcon flanking force would need to be relatively fast to move through this area and cut off the Legion, and would likely be outfitted with jump-capable Mechs to more efficiently cross the narrow river.

Ranger BSP is limited to air units only.

Good to know. Let me figure out who else I might bring instead.

Thanks for letting me know.  I'm not sure that I want to call up a 5th lance at the moment, especially as I don't know how many missions this event is going to include.

FYI, there will be more or less full scenario writeup.  I already have the map generated, for example, but I'm holding on Dancer and Reaper Lances to post what they're bringing.

To the people wondering what is happening to your Mechs stuck in factories right now; that will depend on the upcoming game result and/or whether you get pulled for the next game after this one.

Finally, I'm going to start a new "contract" thread, for Contract Log purposes.
